Try to pull together a road map of how you want the day to feel, then the specifics can be worked through to match this plan.
What to Consider Before Booking a Venue
To narrow down your choices you might like to think about the following.
How many people do you want?
Do you want a certain type of catering?
Do you have a preferred location?
Do you have your heart set on a certain date?
Do you want to BYO your beverages?
When comparing quotes, you will also want to make sure you are comparing apples with apples as each venue has different inclusions, so make sure you know what you are getting.
What catering options do they have?
What is their beverage policy?
Do they include tables? chairs? cloths?
When can you pack in?
When do you need to vacate the premises?
These inclusions can impact the overall cost, so make sure you know these answers before paying the deposit.
What’s Your Style?
Rustic, Classic, Contemporary? Or do you have no idea what those terms even mean?
If you don’t know what you want, then talk to some vendors and get their advice. It can often be easier to start with the things that you DON’T like which can lead to the things that you DO like.
Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For Help
You don’t plan a wedding every day so don’t feel embarrassed for needing some assistance. If the budget is tight, you could plan it yourself but have a consultation with a wedding planner to ensure you are on track and haven’t forgotten anything.
