Our Story

The Little Hire Company is Christchurch’s leading provider of event furniture and styling, operating since 2011.

We are the only company in the South Island that provides a full events service - an extensive hire collection, florals, custom signage, and stationery as well as full set-up and pack-down options.

With our unique expertise and background in both events and marketing, we don’t just look at the aesthetics of your event, but the entire guest experience while also making sure these are consistent with your marketing strategy.


Locally Owned

We are a family-owned business, born from a passion for the events industry and creating memorable and enriched experiences.

Tom originally hails from Birmingham in the UK, and Fallon from the mighty West Coast.

Tom’s background is in logistics and warehouse management, with Fallon’s in corporate marketing, product procurement, styling, and design.

They have two young children, Ashton and Ayah, and their rescue dog, Zoe.

As a family, they love to travel and experience new places, food and meet new people. You’ll otherwise find them at the park, beach, or exploring the city!

Colombia or Bolivia. Not exactly the typical tourist spots I guess, but incredibly amazing countries.

- Travel through Eastern Europe + Greece

- Take the kids on an epic cross-country USA trip

- Write + publish a childrens book

I was a rescue pup from Dogwatch, who used my charms to persuade the Directors that I would be an invaluable member of the LHC team.

History

Started as a side business, named ‘Oh Buttercup Events’, hiring small decor for weddings and events from a home garage
Re-branded to The Little Hire Company
Hired our first permanent employee. Bought our first company vehicle - a modest van
Moved into a space, with warehouse, showroom and offices in Papanui
Imported our first container of furniture
Introduced marquees into our service offering
Moved HQ to larger warehouse in Sydenham
