Event Manager to guide you through the planning process
On-the-day Event Supervisors for pack-in and pack-out
In-house sound system and WiFi
Fully staffed bar with a liquor license and Duty Manager
Post-event clean-up and rubbish removal
Dry Hire
Ideal for corporate meetings, photoshoots, and kids’ parties, this option gives you the space and lets you handle the rest.
Minimum hire of 3 hours
Option to add a Duty Manager and bar staff if alcohol will be served
Flexible setup and pack-down times
The space must be returned to its original condition

A Venue Steeped in History
What gives The Welder its unique character? Its rich history. Originally built in the 1880s, The Welder is a combination of six industrial workshops that have been lovingly restored.
The 113sqm space features heritage wooden flooring reclaimed from other buildings around Christchurch and a striking green sliding door that once belonged to a Land Rover mechanic's workshop. It’s a nod to the past while providing a stylish, modern setting for any event.

“What I love most is how different each event is,” Sophie shares. “One day it’s a corporate seminar, the next it’s a lively product launch, and then a 1st birthday party. Seeing the space come to life in so many ways is incredible.”
